Meet the Team!

ANDREW MORAN
Founder of Miami Hoop School

Andrew Moran is an NBA Skills Coach, an I'm Possible National Innovator, an International clinician, and the Miami Hoop School Founder. Andrew is the first I’m Possible trainer to be introduced to the State of Florida. Andrew has been actively training since 2008. Andrew also has experience in coaching. He was an assistant coach at Miami Senior High School in 2011 and worked on player development.  He also was the head coach at Miami Christian High School and led the Victors to a state championship in 2015. His experience serves him well, having worked with players at the NBA, international, collegiate, and high school levels.


Andrew travels around the Globe training athletes of all levels and because he is fluent in Spanish he has been granted many opportunities to train in places like Argentina, many different cities in Spain (Canary Islands, Huelva, Vinaros, Barcelona, Tenerife, Las Palmas) and Puerto Rico to name a few. Andrew’s attention to detail allows every player to excel. His enthusiasm for basketball exudes on the court and his students emulate his passion during their training sessions. Andrew is constantly studying the game and perfecting his craft, so he can offer the latest and best training techniques to his students.


Andrew is well liked and encourages his protégés to work outside their comfort zones. His workouts are fun yet challenging, and his high expectations match those of his players. Andrew has been featured and interviewed by newspapers, radio stations, podcasts, and broadcasts. 


Andrew is a true believer in making the impossible, Possible! Andrew is a proud husband and father to three beautiful children. 

JORGE MILO
Lead Trainer

Jorge is an international skill development trainer, who has worked with players at all levels. As a player Jorge played for University of Maine at Machias, where he was named team captain first year there. Jorge’s junior year, the clippers were able to achieve history by winning their first school conference championship. Jorge was named an all-conference player and received an All-American honorable mention. After his collegiate career Jorge turned to his true passion which was training and developing players. Jorge has the ability to breakdown and assess each player’s strength and weaknesses. His approach to teaching is to build an athlete's confidence as he works to improve their skill level and understanding of the game.  Jorge is passionate about the game of basketball and has great ability to demonstrate skills necessary to become an effective player. Jorge is a true student of the game. He believes in the game of basketball and its evolution throughout the years, by implementing innovation. He trains the players to develop game-like action skills which allows them to perform at any level.

DAVID THOMAS
Coach

David Thomas has been working with Miami Hoop School since February of 2015. Basketball has been his passion since childhood days of shooting around on a crate nailed to a tree in front of his house back in Queens, New York. He is eager to teach and train players who are looking to reach their full potential and he loves to see growth and improvement. The innovative and game-like training implemented at Miami Hoop School helps him to do just that.

AL PRENDES
Coach

Al was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He grew up playing football but his love quickly turned to basketball in his adolescent years. He attended Christopher Columbus High School where he led the team to their first district championship in over twenty years. After graduating from Florida State University, Al became a professional poker player where he traveled around the world competing in high stakes tournaments. He has now focused his time and dedication to the skills development side of basketball. His experience ranges from training kids as young as six all the way up to professional players. 

DERRICK DE LA GRANA
Skill Development

Derrick De La Grana graduated from Florida Christian School in 2005 where he completed his high school career with over 2,000 points and was selected First Team All-County and All-State. Derrick graduated from Reinhardt University in 2010 where he completed his Bachelor of Business before going on to play professionally overseas in Santiago, Chile for  Universidad Católica de Chile. Derrick was commissioned to conduct skills clinics in Chile, Costa Rica, Germany, and Puerto Rico. In 2012, Derrick became Head Coach at nationally-recognized Calusa Preparatory School where has placed over 20 student athletes in numerous colleges across the country. Based in Miami, Derrick works with players of all levels including high school, college and NBA players.

ANGELA MORAN
Manager 

Angela Moran is the proud wife of Coach Andrew Moran and the happy mother of Kylani (4.5) and boy/girl twins Dylan and Elly (1.5). Angela played varsity basketball as starting point guard at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy in Miami, Florida where she was the team captain. She then went on to Florida State University where she co-founded the Girls Club Basketball Team. One can say this is a basketball family. Angela does not do any of the training but is in charge of Miami Hoop School. She manages the website, registration, emails, texting service, marketing, communication, accounting,and all finances.
