Finishing the season with a record of 30 wins and 4 losses, the Columbus Explorers made history by not only winning back to back FHSAA boys basketball Class 7A State Championships, but also by claiming their first ever national title!
Less than a month after winning their 2nd state championship, Coach Andrew and the Explorers headed to "The Throne" national basketball tournament at Morehouse College’s Forbes Arena in Atlanta, which held 16 top-ranked teams in the nation. The whole tournament was broadcasted nationally on Fox Sports and NBA TV. The Explorers won 4 tough games in 4 days to come home as national champions.
